The rabbit route
The knee felt really good, but my legs are kind of weak. I must switch into full tapering mode from now on. I have a bunch of miles ahead to cover…
Curious fact: is it only me who sees it or my route really resembles a bunny?
"As far as I'm concerned, if someone eliminates the mental part of climbing, then we might as well all go play miniature golf."

It’s not that it causes me a lot of pain, but trying to run is only delaying the healing process. I prefer to loose the necessary training days and get back to marathon pace when everything feels good.
Hopefully, this long rest can serve as tapering before the next round of races…

My reality now is that I’m facing an injury at the back of my left knee, I have pain in the ligaments and the articulation. No, I didn’t got the injury while running the marathon, it was 20 minutes before it, while jumping a fence for going to the toilet.
As it always happen with accidents, they occur because of stupid mistakes. I didn’t had to jump the fence in the 1st place, if I had put more attention I could have seen that there was a door for crossing the fence and my knee wouldn’t hurt now.
Stupid is what stupid does…
So back to today’s run. I did one of my short (12 km) courses at Los Cipreses and despite that I ran at a conservative pace and I was very careful of not hurting my knee any more, I could evidence that the injury is not a minor one.
I’ve been on self-repair mode since the race, using ice packs on the affected areas 3 times a day, taking anti-inflammatory drugs and hydrating properly. It seems like these stage will last longer than expected…
Today was very cloudy (an imminent sign of heavy rain), but that couldn’t stop us from going there and give a try to a couple of routes. Just getting to the rocks walking through the forest was a pleasant experience since everything is really humid, green and full of life.
The rocks were more than wet but we managed to climb through a 5.10 stemming chimney, then fixed the rope over a 5.11+ face climb. After a couple of tries on the slippery face, the rain started to do its thing so we had to run out of the place.
Getting back to the car was an adventure by itself, the trail was so wet and slippery due to the slime that we had to downclimb some sections of it (even if it had no more than 20° of inclination!). We definitely had fun all the day long
