Yahoo! Answers party

Last night was the Yahoo! Answers launch public party at a gallery in Polanco. There was a demonstration of the product and I think it has a lot of potential.

Most of my friends from the MX office were there and we had a great time while drinking some exotic purple Yahoo! martinis

Trying…

To grab all holds inside Chiluca’s boulder cave…

What I’ve got was a huge forearm pump and the satisfaction of knowing that it’s possible to do some moderate climbing with an immovilized hand. I hope to post some pictures later…

Unbalanced running

I went out for street running this morning and I could barely finish my shortest route through Cd. Satélite. This thing in my right hand is driving me nuts. It adds unnecessary weight to my body and also dislodges my center of gravity. The only advantage that I see from it is that my right arm will get greatly stronger…

Expanding abilities (or becoming lefty)

The whole day has been of finding new ways for doing common things: brushing my teeth, comb my hair, drive the car, sign a voucher… I can still hack with my other 9 fingers (mouse was switched to the left hand) but everything else just seems like a new thing to learn. Maybe I’ll become lefty…

Sprained thumb

I went back to the mountain for my dose of running. Yesterday we had a heavy rain in the city so the trail was extremely muddy and slippery. As you can imagine by the post’s title, I slipped at some point and twisted my thumb completely backwards. Ouch!

I managed to place it onto its normal position and while I loudly yelled my pain out, I realized that no other apparent injuries were visible. After a couple of minutes I returned to running and tried to ignore the pain for the rest of the route.

I returned to the car and then to my place. I was tired and beaten up. I resumed my afternoon activities and during them I observed that the palm of my hand was getting bad. The base of the thumb was growing and getting hard as well as blueish. Bad sign…

After work, aunt Yola picked me up and took me to the hospital. I needed a doctor’s opinion. The diagnose after the X-ray revision: all ligaments were torn out as well as my tendons. Miraculously, no bones were broken. The doctor immobilized my hand and it should stay like that for 3 weeks. Well, at least running was not prohibited by the doctor…

Up and down, up and down…

Got my dose of trail running today. I skipped lunch as usual and went to Chiluca for a 1 hour run atop of the hills. This time I changed the route and returned by the same trail. Had to climb the 315-meter mountain twice. Strenuous!

Private sunset

Tired from yesterday’s bouldering session, I went back to Chiluca after work today. This time I opted to go for a run in the mountain and enjoy the beautiful sunset. The route was a bit short but extremely enjoyable, every meter of it…
