Yahoo! nostalgy…

This morning I went to visit Güero and my beloved cousin Poli at Yahoo! México. I’ve just realized that it has been a year since I left working there…

Everybody were very friendly as always (Dani, Rubén, Tania, Mike, Alma, Yamilé, Mauricio, Vanessa, Renato, Quique), I felt like if I’ve never left the place!

That makes me really happy

I almost broke my neck

I went bouldering alone today. I’ve been training quite a lot recently, so my arms weren’t so strong, they are pretty tired actually… in fact I’ve got again this indescriptible pain on my biceps…

So I was there… trying to conquer the fear, when I almost broke my neck on an X rated move, my arms could barely hold me before I reached the ground. Fortunately there were no consequences, but I must take some rest days…

Mexican bureaucracy…

Real moments of frustration are lived when you need to do some proceeding at any government office.

It’s really incredible that the people who work there do not have the minimum common sense.

How can you explain that if you present a bunch of official documents that required an original birth certificate to be obtained, you must present the same original certificate like an indispensable requirement in order to make a new proceeding? This is really absurd…

It’s difficult for a nation to change if the same people refuses to evolve…

So tired for today…

Yes it is! I’m really exhausted from 2 days of BioPerl hacking…

Splitting chromosome sequences is not an easy task. This was the best piece of code for today:

my $end = (($i + $opt_c) > $seq_length) ? ($seq_length + 1) : ($i + $opt_c);

Now I must sleep! See you…

Noche de Requiem

Tomo puños cansados
de levantar inútiles estrellas.

A tu paso lento,
de noches y tormentas,
rindo los intentos
ritos y tragedias,
